Job description

Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications.

We are looking for an experienced Tool Room Machinist to join our established team. In this position you will design, build, repair and maintain the job fixtures and trim dies. This position also interfaces with planning, engineering and quality teams to meet customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings and production procedures to determine fixture and die requirements, measurements, and allowable tolerances Maintains, builds, repairs and services the fixtures and trim dies Trouble shoots fixtures and trim dies to resolve manufacturing problems Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product Setup and operate a variety of production equipment and tools such as milling machines, metal lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, saws, sanders, taps, arbor presses, punch presses and Kard presses Accurately use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, veneer gauges, dial indicators, depth gauges, feeler gauges and tape measure Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly Sweep and clean up work area and equipment Required Training, Skills and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred Previous Experience or training, required Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, mathmatical, diagram or schedule form Ability to solve and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundementals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry Employment Eligibility Requirements: This position may involve access to items subject to U.S. export-control laws.
