Job description


Title: Accounting Analyst - Capital / Fixed Assets
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Portland, OR - Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
  • Key participant in themonth-end general ledger and internal reporting processes, includingpreparing both journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for fixed assetaccounting activities for Water subsidiaries including asset creation,cost transfers, capitalized interest and taxes, depreciation andretirements
  • (note the fixed assetaccounting is manual and not in a Fixed Asset system for these subsidiarysubledgers)
  • Creates projects in SAP andmonitors projects in Construction Work in Progress to help ensure timelyplacement of projects into service
  • Perform accounting for andreporting of activities related to subsidiary fixed assets
  • Complete assigned internalcontrol procedures to ensure timely compliance with the Sarbanes-OxleyAct.
  • Prepare annual accountingreports including the Annual Regulatory filings, account rollforwards andaudit requests
  • Provide support for bothinternal and external auditors

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • Bachelor's degree orequivalent in Accounting; CPA certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of appliedaccounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of generallyaccepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Fixed AssetsAccounting
  • Experience with large ERPsystem (SAP) is desirable.
  • Must combine attention todetail with the ability to envision the big picture.
  • Demonstrated background inapplying analytical/accounting research skills and problem solving.
  • Strong writing skills,including task documentation and report writing.
  • Proven ability to meetdeadlines, including strong time management and organizational skills.
  • PC Skills primarily for wordprocessing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Strong Excelspreadsheet skills including navigating through large amounts of data,advanced formulas, and pivot tables required.
  • Proven ability to function ina team environment, provide information and training to users whiletreating them with respect and dignity.
