Associate Trader, Fixed Income
This is an opportunity for you to join the fixed-income trading team in Seattle. You will work with a specific focus on Fixed Income Markets and support the global trading team, as needed. In this role, you will be a key member of a team responsible for providing global Fixed Income trading for the Russell Funds, Trading Clients, Transition Management Clients, and Investment Managers.
This associate will be responsible for implementing trading strategies that conform to Russell Investment's best execution guidelines, with oversight and guidance from senior members of the global fixed income trading team, as well as other regional teams. This person will analyze trading against best execution through demonstrable pre-trade and post-trade analysis, our trading capabilities in terms of markets and execution venues, and our overall product offering.

Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Trading: Collaborate with the Fixed Income trading team to execute a broad array of trading strategies in global markets, from global trading mandates to more focused mandates across fixed income markets.
  • This individual must be familiar with Fixed Income markets, both international and domestic, for all credit, sovereigns, and structured products globally.
  • Strategy development and implementation of trading: Interact with senior members of the team using risk models, optimization systems, and other trading analytic systems. Research trading costs associated with various strategies and implement the most cost-effective strategy.
  • Risk Management and Best Practices: Liaise with numerous clients, investment managers/portfolio managers and execute the program and/or single order transactions. Continue to learn and implement the established best practices to ensure trading strategies conform to Russell's best execution guidelines. Interface with various systems and operate multiple market-facing execution technologies.

Your Expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related area.
  • 1-2+ years of fixed-income experience in the industry, with some interest in international fixed-income securities.
  • Expected to study and receive SIE and Series 7, 55, and 63 licenses.
  • Advanced degrees or interest in studying to become a CFA charter holder are considered a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and SQL is preferred.
  • Detailed-oriented & excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Driven self-starter looking to take on new responsibilities in a challenging environment
  • In-depth knowledge of the Global Fixed Income Trading Marketplace and clearing infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience with fixed-income electronic trading platforms:
  • Tradeweb, MarketAxess, Bloomberg, Liquidnet, TruMid, MTS and Yieldbroker is preferred.
