Position Summary

We are seeking a Fixed Income Trader to execute and manage trades across fixed income securities on behalf of the firm and its clients. The trader will be responsible for price discovery, execution, providing market color to portfolio managers, and managing risk within established limits. The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative ability, sound market judgment, and can perform under pressure in fast-moving markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute trades in fixed income instruments including government bonds, corporate bonds, agency mortgage-backed securities and agency debentures.
  • Solicit competitive bids and offers, manage bid/ask spreads, and source liquidity across broker dealers, and electronic trading platforms.
  • Monitor markets, research, interest rate movements, credit spreads, and macroeconomic developments, and communicate relevant market color to portfolio managers.
  • Partner with portfolio managers to implement investment strategies and execute orders efficiently while minimizing market impact and transaction costs.
  • Maintain accurate trade records and ensure timely, accurate trade capture, confirmation, and settlement in coordination with operations team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sell-side dealers, brokers, and trading counterparties.
  • Ensure all trading activity complies with regulatory requirements, firm policies, internal controls, and cooperate with compliance, risk, and audit functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, economics or related field; advanced degree or CFA a plus.
  • Proficiency with trading and analytics platforms such as Bloomberg, MarketAxess, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income products, yield curve dynamics, duration and convexity.
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with portfolio managers, broker dealers and client service/marketing.
