Role Summary

Global Investment Compliance (GIO) is a global team responsible for ensuring compliance with a diverse set of requirements, including regulatory, prospectus, client-directed, internal investment, and operational restrictions (aCompliance Restrictionsa) for portfolios managed by T. Rowe Price.A

This position sits within the Monitoring team, which plays a crucial role in reviewing investment activities as it relates to Compliance Restrictions coded into the firmas investment compliance monitoring system, Charles River (CRD), and supports client reporting on these restrictions.

The Investment Compliance Analyst collaborates with, and provides information to a diverse range of stakeholders, including investment personnel, legal counsel, client operations managers, and other internal and external partners.A The analyst also participates in and manages projects assigned by the Investment Compliance leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze pre-trade, post-trade and batch compliance alerts in CRD to assess permissibility.A When necessary, liaises with trading, legal, client operations and/or investment personnel by assisting with interpretation of guidelines and communications to clients
  • Communicate effectively through direct interaction with Trading, Investment, Client and Legal associates.
  • Monitors and manages manual processes items not coded into CRD.
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance violations, data issues, process questions, or unusual alert activity in a timely manner, and participates in the violation resolution process.
  • Actively participates in the Global Client Investment Reporting (GCIR) process.
  • Develop a working understanding of investment strategies, security types, derivatives, and compliance monitoring concepts relevant to assigned coverage.
  • Maintain organized records of alert reviews, research, decisions, and escalations in accordance with team expectations and procedural requirements.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously seeks opportunities to enhance efficiency: Actively identifies process improvement opportunities
  • Champions risk reduction: Works to reduce risk by looking for opportunities to make the compliance monitoring process more accurate, concise, and efficient.
  • Drives automation and innovation: Recommends and implements solutions to automate manual rules, and supports the integration of new compliance functionality.
  • Builds system and process knowledge: Develops knowledge of Charles River or comparable compliance monitoring systems and applies that knowledge to daily monitoring responsibilities.
  • Challenges the status quo: Critically evaluates existing policies and procedures, and practices and proposes innovative solutions to enhance effectiveness and address emerging challenges.
  • Contributes to rule optimization: Actively monitors compliance alerts to identify trends and areas for improvement in the rule library.

Projects:

  • Participates in team projects or initiatives under the direction of senior associates or managers.
  • Supports research, analysis, testing, documentation, or implementation activities related to new or changing compliance monitoring requirements.
  • Assist with documenting procedures, process controls, and reference materials.
  • Contributes to project work by completing assigned tasks accurately, raising questions appropriately, and communicating progress clearly.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred, including experience in investment operations, compliance, trading support, portfolio operations, client reporting, data analysis, financial services, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of investment products and security types, such as equities, fixed income instruments, funds, or derivatives, or a demonstrated interest in developing this knowledge.
  • Familiarity with trading, IBOR, order management, compliance, reporting, or data systems preferred.

$59,000.00 - $94,500.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$61,000.00 - $104,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$69,500.00 - $118,000.00 for the location of: New York, CaliforniaThis job is eligible for overtime pay.

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individualas relevant experience and skills for the role.A Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.A Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
