Summary of the Job:
The Fixed Income Trading Desk Support provides foundational operational support to the Fixed Income Trading Desk, assisting with new issue competitive deal workflows, trade processing, settlement support, and daily operational activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently under time pressure.
This role is designed for an early to mid-career professional who is building expertise in fixed income trading operations and new issue deal support. Working under the guidance of the Lead and Senior Fixed Income Trading Desk Support, the individual in this role will develop proficiency across the full new issue deal lifecycle and grow toward independent execution over time.
About This Role:
New Issue Deal Support:
  • Support the full lifecycle of new issue competitive deal workflows under the guidance of the Lead and Senior Trading Desk Support, including DTCC eligibility, closing coordination, funds movement, and settlement support.
  • Contribute with closing coordination activities, developing familiarity with closing call processes and procedures in preparation for greater responsibility over time.
  • Support daily trade flow processes including trade capture, comparison, and settlement under the direction of senior team members.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving trade breaks, discrepancies, and settlement issues in coordination with the Lead, Senior, operations, and counterparties.

Compliance and Regulatory Controls:
  • Support FINRA, MSRB, SEC, and firm trade reporting under the guidance of the Lead and Senior Trading Desk Support.
  • Maintain proper and accurate books and records in full compliance with applicable regulations and firm policies.
  • Follow established operational procedures and process documentation to support a strong control environment.
  • Actively develop awareness of FINRA, MSRB, and SEC regulatory requirements applicable to fixed income trading desk operations.

Operational Coordination:
  • Assist with coordination between traders, sales producers, operations, and counterparties as directed by senior team members.
  • Support the preparation of management reporting and desk summaries as needed.
  • Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives and desk efficiency projects under the guidance of the Lead and Senior Trading Desk Support.
  • Actively seek learning opportunities and apply feedback constructively to build expertise in new issue workflows and fixed income trading operations.

Key Skills:
  • Strong ability to execute tasks accurately and consistently in a high-volume, time-sensitive trading environment.
  • Foundational or developing knowledge of new issue competitive deal workflows, DTCC processes, and trade settlement. Willingness to learn is essential.
  • Developing proficiency in Bloomberg, iPreo, EMMA, Microsoft Excel, and Word. Prior exposure to fixed income trading platforms is a plus.
  • Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with traders, sales, operations, and counterparties under supervision.
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately to senior team members for resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to shifting deal priorities in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Genuine interest in developing expertise in fixed income trading operations and new issue deal support, with a commitment to growing toward independent execution over time.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Required:
Experience: 1 - 5 years of experience in fixed income trading desk support, operations, or a related function, with significant tenure supporting new issue competitive deal workflows.
Licensing: FINRA licenses; SIE, Series 7, and Series 63
Desired:
Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $52,374.00-$86,417.00
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
