Bloomberg's Fixed Income Pricing group provides gold standard pricing services to the financial markets. Our solutions include products like BVAL, IBVAL Front Office, CBBT and BGN. We price over 2.9 million securities across all fixed income asset classes, including thinly traded and hard-to-price fixed income securities. Our customers rely on us to understand markets and analyze complex structures which allow them to make thoughtful investment decisions, which ultimately creates more value for the investor. Our mission is to drive greater transparency, liquidity and safety in global fixed income markets.
To produce this pricing data, we absorb billions of data points from hundreds of financial markets every day. We also develop applications that provide intelligent analytics and transparency for these prices.
Bloomberg's Evaluated Pricing (BVAL) business is a market leader in fixed income pricing and the pricing provider to the Bloomberg Indices. BVAL prices multiple times daily for clients across buy side, sell side and custodial clients. Mutual funds, money managers, hedge funds, internal pricing groups, and auditors rely on BVAL to establish fair and independent fixed income asset valuations. We are known for:
- Transparent methodologies that aid clients in the full investment lifecycle
- Pricing data provided how and when clients want it
- Legendary customer support
BVAL Fixed Income Evaluators are capital markets experts responsible for employing relevant, innovative, and leading-edge valuation models that leverage Bloomberg's in-house analytics to provide high-quality data for the front office, middle office, and operations. • Discuss markets, complex valuation models, and pricing questions with colleagues and clients.
• Collaborate with multiple groups across reporting lines and support downstream product including sales and business to identify and implement workflow improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Use innovative valuation models leveraging Bloomberg's in-house analytics along with credit metrics, transaction terms, comparable companies and transactions, capital structure, and broader market drivers to provide accurate and defensible valuations for clients.
• Provide subject matter expertise and oversight across private credit and private equity valuation processes, including methodology development, valuation review, and quality control.
You'll Need to Have:
• 5+ years of underwriting, portfolio management, securities and loan valuations or research experience within private markets.
• Experience learning and navigating complex systems, including databases and analytical models.
• A strong understanding of private markets, including company and industry fundamentals, capital structures, credit analysis, transaction structures, valuation methodologies, and relevant market drivers.
• Excellent Excel skills, including the ability to create financial models, perform statistical analysis and work with large data sets to help design and support BVAL's valuation models.
• Advanced technical skills such as VBA, SQLPad, and/or Python.
• Ability to articulate complex valuation models in a clear and concise manner with internal and external constituents.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
