Job description

Position Title: Portfolio Manager
The Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Vice President of Portfolio Management by executing investment strategies, managing balance sheet risk, and optimizing portfolio performance within established investment policy guidelines. This is a hybrid opportunity to join a collaborative financial institution where you'll help manage sophisticated fixed income portfolios while working alongside experienced investment leaders in a stable, growth-oriented environment.
You'll play a key role in balance sheet management, portfolio optimization and investment strategy while gaining exposure to complex fixed income products, derivatives and interest rate management. Salary Range: $120,000-$150,174+ / Year DOE
Portfolio Manager Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing balance sheets
  • Conduct liquidity, asset, and liability management
  • Engage in hygiene activities, including interest rate swaps
  • Facilitate the buying of asset-backed and agency-backed securities

Portfolio Manager Requirements:
  • 5-8 years of experience in asset management within the credit union or banking industry
  • Strong understanding of fixed income and individual securities trading and/or portfolio management
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field is preferred
  • CFA certification
  • Exceptional ability to assess and monitor portfolio risk exposures
  • Knowledge of sector/product-specific drivers
  • Ability to interpret economic data and understand monetary policy and its impact on rates and the yield curve
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Experience with asset-backed securities (ABS) and mortgage-backed securities (MBS)
  • Proficiency in Excel; strong skills in Bloomberg
  • Experience with ABS and MBS derivative transactions is preferred
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar data and reporting tools is preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL is preferred
  • Experience with PowerAutomate is preferred
