Location (city, state): Fort Worth, TX

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire, 6-month conversion period; Direct Hire also available

Pay: $40.00 to $45.67 per hour | Conversion salary up to $95,000 annually

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM | Hybrid, Tuesday through Thursday onsite and Monday/Friday remote

This position is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of commercial lending relationships, evaluating credit quality, monitoring portfolio performance, and helping ensure compliance with internal lending standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial credit analysis, portfolio management, and risk assessment, with the ability to collaborate across teams while supporting sound lending practices.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager to oversee an assigned commercial loan portfolio and support ongoing credit administration. This position is primarily focused on portfolio oversight, financial analysis, credit risk management, and lender partnership rather than new business development. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial lending and credit experience, sound financial analysis skills, and the ability to evaluate borrower performance, identify emerging risks, and communicate credit recommendations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor an assigned portfolio of commercial loans while maintaining strong credit quality and accurate risk ratings
  • Analyze borrower financial statements and complete periodic credit reviews
  • Monitor loan covenants, financial reporting, documentation, and portfolio performance
  • Identify and escalate emerging credit concerns, including criticized and underperforming loans
  • Partner with lenders on renewals, modifications, extensions, loan structures, terms, and covenant requirements
  • Prepare annual reviews, credit memoranda, and portfolio monitoring documentation
  • Support the management and remediation of problem credits, including restructures and enhanced monitoring
  • Maintain professional relationships with borrowers and communicate credit requirements and concerns effectively
  • Collaborate with lenders, credit analysts, Loan Operations, Compliance, and senior management
  • Support credit analysts with underwriting, financial analysis, and portfolio management best practices
  • Recommend improvements to portfolio monitoring, reporting, documentation, and credit administration processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of commercial lending, credit analysis, or loan portfolio management experience
  • Commercial loan underwriting and credit monitoring experience
  • Strong financial statement analysis and commercial credit risk assessment skills
  • Knowledge of loan documentation, covenants, and portfolio risk management
  • Experience with C&I, commercial real estate, and/or professional practice lending preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills
