About the job:
1. Role Purpose and Context
BBVA is seeking an Expert in US Fixed Income Operations for its team in New York. This role will be key for the transformation and expansion of our operative platform in the American market. His objective will be to contribute with his technical expertise to lead the implementation of new products and refine the operational flows for Fixed Income (Repos, Securities Lending, Purchases/Sales, etc.).
The role requires close global coordination with teams in New York, Madrid, and Mexico City.
2. Key Focus Areas and Responsibilities
A. Project Leadership and Solution Definition
  • Product Implementation: Lead the end-to-end operational definition for the launch of new Fixed Income products in the U.S. with a special focus on trade booking processes, trade settlement, custodian account management, collateral management and collateral exchange, intraday liquidity management, corporate actions processing, etc..
  • Process Transformation: Act as a subject matter expert to redesign and optimize currently existing post-trade flows

B. Operational Execution
  • Critical Operational Tasks: Perform specialized daily operational tasks that complement project work, in coordination with Spain and Mexico teams.
  • Technical Coordination: Serve as the key technical liaison between Front Office, Technology, and Global Operations, in the different geographies
  • Excel knowledge is highly valued as huge amount of information is managed.

3. Required Profile (Skills and Experience)
Minimum Experience and Technical knowledge
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Fixed Income settlement and post-trade management.
  • Expert knowledge of US Infrastructure
    • FEDWIRE
    • FICC (Fixed Income Clearing Corporation).
    • DTC (Depository Trust Company).
    • Tri-Party Repo operations (e.g., Bony).
  • Projects: Demonstrable experience in systems implementation and new product launch projects.

Competencies and Language
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to translate business requirements into scalable operational solutions.
  • Global Coordination: Ability to work effectively in a multi-geography environment (NY, Madrid, Mexico).
  • Languages:
    • English (Mandatory).
    • Spanish (Highly Valued) for coordination with Latam and Europe.
