Job description

The Junior Taxable Fixed Income Trader will be primarily responsible for providing execution services for all Fixed Income instruments for the Firm's network of over 850 Financial Advisors (FAs) while adhering to best execution standards, internal policies, and regulatory obligations. Secondarily, the individual selected for this role will be responsible for portfolio construction, bond ladders, and other one-off initiatives while providing pro-active idea generation and best-in-class service. This role is based in Philadelphia with full time in the office required.
What you are good at:

  • Client Service: Meeting and exceeding customer expectations by providing timely and attentive responses to client requests.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration-Connecting with others in a way that fosters trust, creates collaborative relationships, and preserves established team culture.
  • Communicating Effectively- Must be able to effectually communicate verbally and in writing with senior level leadership and financial advisors

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handle daily retail fixed income trade execution across multiple platforms
  • Process trades across multiple asset classes
  • Utilize tools to access liquidity in the market place
  • Proactively keep on top of market developments and trading opportunities
  • Manage trade flow and street contacts
  • Follow regulations and internal procedures, including quality of execution, pricing, and compliance policies

Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments and strategies
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg skill
  • Ability to develop trade ideas based on relative value, and fundamental analysis
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to leverage technology and learn new trading platforms
  • Strong service orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Required Experience:
  • 1 - 5 years experience in the financial services industry that is aligned with the specific responsibilities of the role
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
  • Series 7 and 63, 65 or 66 license required
