Meet the Team
Millennium's Information Technology team is core to the health and growth of the business. The firm's active, multi-manager model depends on flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including the continued development of next-generation analytical and trading capabilities. Within this environment, the Fixed Income Technology team supports a platform focused on intraday risk, trade, and portfolio management, partnering closely with investment, business management, and risk functions in a fast-moving engineering environment.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with portfolio managers, business management, and risk teams to design and deliver intraday risk, trade, and portfolio management solutions.
  • Architect and develop enterprise-scale data ingestion and distribution frameworks.
  • Work closely with project managers and senior leadership to gather analytical requirements, track delivery, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Maintain, support, and continuously enhance existing platforms as business needs evolve.
  • Build robust, scalable, production-grade distributed systems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver timely, high-impact solutions for portfolio and risk management users across the firm.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders to translate needs into practical outcomes.
  • Contribute to a high-performance engineering culture with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.

What You Bring
  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience in Java, Python, or Rust; this role works primarily in Python and Django.
  • 2+ years of front-end engineering experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks; this role works primarily in Angular.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or another public cloud platform; this role uses AWS.
  • Deploy AI-assisted tools and modern developer workflows using MCPs, Agent Architecture, and post-AI evaluations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another scientific or technical discipline.
  • Development experience building microservices-based systems in a production environment.
  • Functional exposure to the investment process, particularly equities, credit, futures, or fixed income products, is highly desirable; this role focuses on bonds and repos.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across globally distributed teams.

Salary Range
Millennium offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual's experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
