Job description

Role Overview:


Insight Investment is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join its stable value investment team in San Francisco. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to deepen their exposure to portfolio management, investment strategy, and institutional asset management - particularly in the 401k/defined contribution space.


The Portfolio Analyst will support Portfolio Managers in the construction, monitoring, and analysis of stable value (fixed income) portfolios. They will play an active role in strategy allocation, risk mitigation, performance analysis and data management, within a collaborative and intellectually rigorous investment environment.


Role Responsibilities:



  • Support Portfolio Managers in the oversight and monitoring of stable value (fixed income) portfolios

  • Assist with portfolio construction, asset allocation analysis and liquidity monitoring

  • Help monitor portfolio risk metrics and ensure alignment with client guidelines and objectives

  • Track economic data, interest rate trends and credit market developments, summarizing insights for the team

  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast interest rate scenarios and evaluate their impact on portfolio valuations, duration and performance

  • Trade support, data integrity, market value data management and investment reporting processes

  • Collaborate in generating performance reports, attribution analysis and internal investment materials

  • Contribute to preparation of client presentations, prospect presentations and investment commentary materials

  • Engage cross-functionally with relationship managers, accounting/operations, product development and client service teams


This role is designed to provide a strong foundation in portfolio management and stable value (fixed income) investing, with opportunities for growth and increasing responsibility over time.


Experience Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or a related technical field

  • Experience in fixed income, investment analysis, trading support, research or asset management

  • Foundational understanding of bond markets, interest rate dynamics and economic market conditions

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with market data systems is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Demonstrated interest and desire to build a long-term career in investment management


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience supporting fixed income portfolio management

  • Exposure to fixed income trading, portfolio reporting and data management
