This hands-on role, reporting to Senior Director, Product Manager - Clearing, combines growing subject matter expertise in clearing, to translate roadmap priorities into shipped functionality.

What you'll do

Leveraging your growing subject matter expertise in clearing within the context of a clearinghouse, your key responsibilities include owning product delivery for defined features and workstreams, working closely with clients, operations, risk, compliance and software engineers, from concept through launch, for features and functionality on Rothera's clearing platform.

Clearinghouse Product Development
  • Own the development and implementation of parts of the clearing system, regulatory reporting, and post-trade functionalities, collaborating across internal teams, operational departments, and clients to enhance Rothera's platform for listed and cleared derivative instruments.
  • Partner with the Risk department on defined initiatives related to real-time risk management, including margin engine configuration, collateral valuation haircuts, and netting and settlement workflows.
  • Maintain and evolve data models for trade settlement, position management, and transaction reporting within your workstreams, ensuring data integrity across the clearing lifecycle.
  • Support clearing member services and portal functionality, including integration of third-party platforms and vendors via FIX protocol, proprietary APIs, or enterprise message queues (e.g., Kafka).
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform roadmap decisions within your area of ownership.
  • Translate clearing business logic into detailed functional specifications, including API services (REST/Websocket), workflow diagrams, data schemas, and edge-case exception workflows for engineering implementation.
Customer Support
  • Main point of technical and product support to customers on features within your ownership, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Support the Operations team with customer technical onboarding, API conformance, and customer connectivity.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with key customers and vendors on your workstreams.
What you'll bring
  • 3-5 years of product management experience in capital markets, with a track record of shipping features for clearing infrastructure, clearing ledger systems, or transaction processing engines.
  • Solid technical understanding of the post-trade lifecycle for listed derivatives or prediction markets, including trade ingest, position management, and end-of-day settlement cycles, across Futures, Options, Swaps, or Prediction Markets.
  • Familiarity with Futures Commission Merchants and their integration with DCMs and DCOs.
  • Experience with digital assets and blockchains is a plus.
  • Experience defining requirements for customer reporting or regulatory reporting infrastructure (e.g., CFTC, SEC, or EMIR compliance), and reviewing system logs for financial accuracy.
  • Ability to query and analyze data independently using SQL or scripting languages (e.g., Python) to validate system behavior, investigate production anomalies, or write data-driven product requirements.
  • Familiarity with modern software architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed ledgers) and the ability to discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.
Benefits & Compensation

This position has a base salary of $130,000-$150,000 per year, plus participation in a discretionary annual incentive bonus program.
