As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you'll play a key role in project execution by developing design solutions, producing construction documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and helping mentor less-experienced staff. This position offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, contribute to complex projects, and participate in the continued growth of a nationally recognized engineering firm.

What You'll Do

Mechanical Design & Engineering

  • Develop mechanical system layouts and design solutions for a variety of building types
  • Assist with equipment evaluation and selection
  • Support preparation of technical documentation, reports, and specifications

Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Execute assigned portions of projects with increasing independence
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, BIM staff, and other disciplines
  • Participate in field surveys, site investigations, and construction-phase support activities
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs

BIM / CAD & Documentation

  • Produce and coordinate construction documents using BIM/CAD tools
  • Develop layouts for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and related systems
  • Ensure drawings and models meet firm standards and project requirements

Leadership & Professional Growth

  • Provide guidance and support to junior designers
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and development of engineering standards
  • Contribute to technical knowledge-sharing, industry involvement, and professional development activities
  • Support F&T's thought leadership initiatives through industry participation and technical contributions

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of mechanical engineering or design experience
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and building mechanical systems
  • Experience with BIM/CAD platforms and design workflows
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams

Why F&T?

For more than 65 years, Fitzemeyer & Tocci has served as the Owner's Engineer, helping clients solve complex engineering challenges while creating exceptional project outcomes.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives

  • Professional development and leadership opportunities
  • Collaborative, employee-focused culture
  • Employee ownership opportunities
  • Challenging and meaningful projects across diverse markets

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; tuition reimbursement and professional development programs.

Join a team where technical excellence, innovation, and career growth go hand in hand.
