Job description

Seeking Board Eligible/Board Certified Family Medicine Physician to join collegial medical group. This full-time position offers a rewarding career in the beautiful Great Lakes Bay Region.

Opportunity Details:

  • Practice Setting: Outpatient practice with a robust employed hospitalist program in place, eliminating the need for hospital coverage by primary care physicians.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend or holiday requirements.
    • Typical schedule is 4.5 days per week, with 36 patient contact hours and 4 administrative hours.
    • Flexibility for a 4-day work week may be available depending on other providers.
    • Basic clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8 AM - 4:30 PM (with a one-hour lunch break) and Friday 8 AM - 12 PM, though some variability exists based on clinic and provider needs.
    • No mandated Saturday or evening requirements at this time.
  • Call Arrangement: Shared call arrangement with primary care colleagues (phone only).
  • Patient Volume: Moving to a 15/30-minute schedule (from 20/40 minutes) with the ability to extend the time for patients known to take longer.
  • Support Staff: Each physician has one dedicated Medical Assistant (MA). Clinics typically have an onsite manager or shared leadership , and generally one clerical MA for check-in and one for check-out. Some clinics also have Lead MAs and Case Managers, with plans for expansion of Case Manager support.
  • Technology & Efficiency:
    • Utilizes Epic EMR with comprehensive training and ongoing support from Onsite Support Assistants (OSAs).
    • DeepScribe is used in almost every clinic for note-taking to streamline administrative tasks.
    • Seamless communication ensures every admission and ER visit is sent to the PCP via Epic, keeping you informed of patient care transitions.
  • Procedures and Virtual Appointments: All practices perform minor procedures based on provider preference , and all clinics have the capability for virtual appointments.
  • Patient-Centered Medical Homes: Many practice sites are designated patient-centered medical homes, some with CPC+ status.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Guarantee: A two-year salary guarantee is provided for physicians.
  • Productivity & Incentive Bonuses:
    • Opportunity for additional compensation if calculated wRVU Compensation exceeds the base compensation at fiscal year end (July-June).
    • Additional incentive compensation opportunities for meeting core performance expectations (documentation, meeting attendance, patient access, new patient access, hospital follow-up access).
  • Commencement Bonus: A one-time Commencement Bonus is possible.
  • Loan Repayment: Possible student loan assistance, especially relevant for PSLF program eligibility (501(c)3 organization). Such payment shall be made directly to the financial institution.
  • Moving Allowance: Reimbursement for reasonable household moving expenses to the Saginaw Community.
  • Educational Support: Educational support is provided while completing residency.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Full benefits include life, health, dental, and vision for the physician and family.
  • Malpractice Coverage: Premiums for malpractice insurance coverage are provided by Covenant HealthCare.
  • Paid Time Off: 37 days of paid vacation, approved in advance by Director.
  • Allowances: CME allowance and allowance for professional dues annually.
