Job description

Join the centerpiece of Tampa's most complete sushi bar experience. At Ro Hyde Park, we craft nigiri, sashimi, and signature rolls with precision, premium ingredients, and modern techniques.

We're looking for a highly skilled sushi chef to prepare a full range of traditional and signature sushi — from perfectly formed nigiri to specialty maki rolls. You'll work at the heart of our sushi bar, take orders from bar guests and the dining room, customize dishes for dietary needs and allergies, and interact warmly with guests. Advanced knife skills and a deep sense of ingredient pairing are essential. We offer competitive pay + tips. Must have availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

What You’ll Do

Preparation

  • Make sushi rice with consistent form and texture
  • Cut, slice, and fillet fish to a high standard
  • Prepare nigiri, maki, sashimi, and specialty rolls
  • Plate dishes to established portion and presentation standards
  • Sterilize all tools and equipment before each use

Operations & guest service

  • Take and relay orders accurately from bar and dining room
  • Accommodate allergy and preference requests
  • Inspect and manage quality of all produce, fish, and proteins
  • Track inventory and place supply orders as needed
  • Report equipment issues to the manager on duty
