Job description

Performs a variety of general maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping and carpentry tasks as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Daily

  • Check all lights and Exit signs and replace bulbs where needed.
  • Dispose of garbage along Corporate Blvd.

  • Haul dirt and chips for walking trail (summer only).

  • Carry in groceries for cook.

  • Feed the fish (summer only).

  • Water flowers three times a week during the summer.

Monthly

  • Wash doors to remove black marks and other blemishes.

  • Check fire extinguishers and emergency lights.

  • Change light bulbs on roof (quarterly).

As Needed

  • Order supplies and repairs.

  • Clean carpet spots and stains.

  • Repair miscellaneous small office equipment.

  • Collect paper recycling, bring in paper and pick up orders from West Chicago as back-up.

  • Repair or change electrical outlets.

  • Build bookcases, tables and countertops and move office furniture/equipment as necessary.

  • Oil desks (yearly).

  • Repair locks and have keys made.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Experience & Skills

  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning repairs and maintenance.
