Position Summary

As the Fish Department Associate, you will play a vital role as a reliable, hardworking member of our Fish Department Team. This position involves supporting all koi fish upkeep, assisting with equipment handling, and performing various construction and maintenance tasks as needed. You will aid in koi shipments and ensure all documentation is accurately recorded to maintain proper inventory. You will also be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping inventory while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all koi fish warehouse operations. This role requires a true self-starter who is energetic, eager to learn, teamwork-oriented, task-driven, and able to take direction well.

 

Responsibilities

Fish Care & Aquatic Duties

  • Assess fish health and perform routine health evaluations.
  • Clean filters and perform general tank system maintenance.
  • Conduct scrapes using a microscope to check for parasites.
  • Assist in treatment of fish and water using medications as directed.
  • Move, catch, and handle fish for customer orders.
  • Pack fish safely and efficiently for shipping.

Warehouse, Construction, & Maintenance

  • Support overall warehouse upkeep, in assisting with building projects, plumbing tasks, and general maintenance duties.
  • Help maintain cleanliness in the warehouse, storage areas, greenhouses, outdoor spaces, and office.
  • Install and troubleshoot filtration, pump, aeration, and plumbing systems as needed.
  • Assist in the construction, cleaning, and upkeep of ponds and landscapes.
  • Maintain grounds and ensure the warehouse/location consistently meets FFP presentation standards.
  • Ensure all necessary information from jobs, parts, and tasks is entered into the company portal daily.

Order Processing & Inventory

  • Assist with Whatnot live-stream auctions by catching fish, supporting the live stream, and packaging auction orders. 
  • Maintain a client facing, professional, and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in the Construction, Landscaping, Aquatic or related industries - a plus!
  • Familiarity with ponds, aquariums, aquatic plants or fish - a plus!
  • Basic computer skills; ability to navigate an iPad or similar device for field submissions - required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent - required
  • Ability to lift between 50 to 100 lbs, including bending, continuous lifting, lowering, and carrying.
  • Ability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions, such as heat, cold, and rain, for parts of the job - required
  • Demonstrated record of punctuality and attendance, ensuring a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to follow direction well.
  • Energetic, eager to learn, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record - required
  • Availability for varied weekly shifts including weekends, holidays, and high peak seasons - required

  • Full Time position
  • Schedule: 8am - 4pm
  • Weekend shift availability required
Position Salary
  • $18.00 - $22.00/hr depending on experience
