Fish Processing Plant Worker
(Contract/Temporary Position)
Hermitage Processing Inc., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing family-owned company on the East Coast and a Platinum member of Canada's Best Managed Companies, offers highly motivated individuals the opportunity to join the company's processing team based at our facility in Hermitage, Newfoundland.
Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, and South America. Our company's success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local economy and sense of community.
The Role
As a Fish Processing Plant Worker, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cutting, cleaning, trimming, filleting, and scaling fish.
- Inspecting fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of portions.
- Operating and maintaining machinery used to clean, cut, process, and package fresh fish products.
- Following all safety and quality operating procedures.
- Inspecting products and packaging to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
- Making necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Ensuring all finished products meet established quality expectations.
- Packing and wrapping fish products for shipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Working Conditions
- This role requires standing for extended periods
- Use of hand tools, including knives and tongs, is required
