Responsibilities
  • Develop an expertโ€‘level understanding of your client base, the industries you support, and the firmโ€™s practice areas and services
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for nonโ€‘immigrant and immigrant visa status
  • Prepare petitions and applications for submission to government agencies for nonโ€‘immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on established precedents
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects
  • Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation
  • Learn and effectively implement guidance and direction offered by supervisors and experienced colleagues
  • Communicate promptly with clients within SLAs and team protocols, responding in a precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized manner
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance
  • Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring accurate and complete data entry
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and firmโ€‘wide activities
  • Serve as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, sharing immigration knowledge and expertise
  • Ensure compliance with documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and support regulatory and client compliance
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
  • U.S. JD or LLM required
  • Member of a U.S. State bar or Washington DC bar association
  • 0โ€‘2 years of experience at Associate level
  • Academic understanding of immigration law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without the aid of AI engines
  • Dedication to exceptional client service
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
