Job description

Bus Driver - Part Time
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks Part-Time Bus Drivers to join a thriving school that is committed to providing a relevant and student-centered learning experience.
Responsibilities - Reporting to the Transportation Coordinator, the Bus Driver will be responsible for the following:
  • Safely transport students on scheduled routes, field trips, athletic runs and special events.
  • Assist students in the loading and unloading process and ensure they are released to approved persons.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, proper fueling and cleaning of buses at completion of each trip/route.
  • Notify Transportation Coordinator of needed bus repairs and maintenance, including scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Assist Facilities, Grounds and/or Athletics with daily event tasks.
Qualifications - The following experience, skills amp; knowledge are required and/or preferred:
  • H.S. Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid CDL with “S” endorsement required; Passenger amp; Airbrake endorsement required.
  • Must maintain a calm presence at all times.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; self-directed individual who is solution oriented, flexible and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
  • Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid preferred; will provide upon hire if needed.
  • Must have valid transportation to/from work each day.
  • A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including students, faculty, staff and parents.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position available immediately. Days and hours may vary, depending on the needs of the Transportation department. The rate of pay starts at $26.40 per hour.
