Transport students to and from assigned school; maintain appropriate passenger behavior and safe operation of the assigned bus.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possesses or will obtain a valid CDL in either Class A or Class B with passenger, air brake and school bus endorsements
  • Criminal background clearance
  • Pass annual physical exam by a licensed Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy within 60 days prior to the first day of school, in accordance with the approved examination (DE Form 0514) prescribed by the State Board of Education
  • Submit to and pass drug and alcohol testing as prescribed in Federal, State and Local standards
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience
  • Positive professional references

Description:
  • Operate school bus in all types of weather conditions
  • Ensure bus is empty of students after each run, verifying no students are on the bus
  • Maintain orderly conduct of student passengers while maintaining a positive relationship and reports unsafe acts and improper conduct to appropriate administration.
  • Maintain route and schedule as planned
  • Maintain pleasant personality as well as clean and neat appearance
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Act in a professional and ethical manner

  • Adhere to all Hall County School District Board of Education policies and all state and federal laws, policies, and procedures

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The position requires continual sitting, reaching, and repetitive hand/arm movements. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. In case of emergency the employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vehicle fumes.
