Job description

Sergeant

First Coast Security Solutions provides security services nationwide. We are seeking a full-time Sergeant position supporting the FPS Northern Florida Contract for Tallassee, FL and surrounding areas. The Sergeant must be willing to work on weekends and holidays. The Sergeant is responsible for scheduling Protective Security Officers (PSOs), supporting daily operations, and maintaining a secure environment at assigned federal facilities. 

Responsibilities 

  • Stand post as needed
  • Assist with supervising and oversee daily activities of PSOs.
  • Assist the Lieutenant with overseeing daily operations.
  • Will assist with PSO’s scheduling and coordinate coverage for open posts to include standing a post until relief arrives.
  • Answer calls and respond to operational needs.
  • Respond to incidents such as medical emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other situations. 
  • Complete logs, reports, and documentation. 
  • Completes Payroll Discrepancies and Expense Reports.
  • Report suspicious activities, safety concerns, or incidents. 
  • Follow all safety rules, company policies, and site procedures. 
  • Other related duties may be assigned based on contract needs. 

 Qualifications 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must possess a valid Social Security.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain suitability as mandated by DHS/FPS 
  • Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English.
  • Must Maintain all required licenses, permits, and certifications.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must have two (2) years of successful experience in field supervision (civilian community law
  • enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security guard service.)

Required State Licensing

  • Must possess Florida D Security Officer License.
  • Must possess Florida G Firearm License.

Working Conditions

  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. 
  • Position requires standing and walking patrols for extended periods and responding quickly. 
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25–50 lbs as needed. 
  • May involve exposure to noise, bright lighting, and fast-paced environments. 
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. 
  • Must be available to travel.
