Job Description

We are currently offering an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Calibration Engineering group of Power Solutions in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Calibration is the process of finding the perfect parameters that make engines and vehicles perform at their best.

The successful candidate will work with a global development team on meaningful projects focused on optimizing powertrain systems and improving calibration efficiency through development of new tools and development of AI tools to support data processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibration of parameters for Powertrain or On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems to meet system requirements.
  • Optimization of powertrain/vehicle performance, driveability, and diagnostic functions.
  • Creation and programming of automated test scripts for efficiency and validation.
  • Data exploration, analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling to identify patterns and insights.
  • Development and testing of Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulations.
  • Definition, evaluation, and presentation of results from engine, electric-machine, and vehicle tests.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 12 weeks per year (domestic and international).

Technology Domains

Diesel, Gasoline, Hybrid, and/or Electric Vehicles

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related technical field (mechanical, electrical, control systems, or computer engineering).
  • Experience with data acquisition and modeling tools such as MatLab/Simulink, ASCET, C++, or the ETAS tool suite.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Good powertrain/diagnostic system knowledge (Diesel, Gasoline, Hybrid, and/or Electric Vehicle) in Hardware, Software, or Calibration.
  • Demonstrated experience with software development, scripting, or automation tools for test case creation and validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
  • Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulation environments or similar model-based development tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey technical findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for testing, validation, and collaborative development activities.
  • Valid driver's license required.
