Surgical Assistant / First Assist – AUTO OFFER

Facility: Southwest General Health Center
Address: 18697 Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130
Location: Middleburg Heights, OH
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Call Requirement: Call, late shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
Pay Rate: $50 – $57/hr
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 – $2,280/week


Job Summary

Southwest General Health Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant / First Assist to provide direct intraoperative support across multiple surgical specialties. The Surgical Assistant will work closely with surgeons to facilitate safe and efficient procedures, including tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, suturing, wound closure, and other first-assist responsibilities.

Candidates must have strong multi-specialty surgical experience and be comfortable participating in call and weekend coverage.


Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Assistant (SA), RNFA or equivalent program

  • International Medical Graduates (IMGs) may be considered

  • Minimum 3 years of Surgical Assistant experience

  • Experience in:

    • Orthopedic Surgery

    • Neuro/Orthopedic Spine Surgery

    • General Surgery

    • Robotic Surgery

    • Urology

    • Gynecology

    • Vascular Surgery

  • Ability to work call, late shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed


Required Credentials
  • Surgical Assistant (SA), Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), RNFA, PA, or equivalent qualification

  • CPR/BLS Certification – Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Assistant, or equivalent program

⚠️ Surgical Technologists are NOT eligible for this position.

Candidates must be one of the following:

  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
