Job description

Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation

This is a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with a day shift of 5x8 hours from 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM. One regular weekend shift is required per week.

The Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitation services to patients in a short-term acute care setting, primarily within the inpatient rehabilitation unit. The therapist may be required to float between various units including the clinical decision unit, ICU, telemetry, med-surg, surgical units, and the emergency department. This position offers an opportunity to work within a geriatric-certified environment with specialized programs in stroke and orthopedics.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of patients' rehabilitation needs
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients in line with their recovery goals
  • Utilize specialized equipment for therapy including Lite Gait, BTE, and motorized parallel bars
  • Provide patient/family education regarding treatment progress and home exercise programs
  • Ensure ongoing patient safety and monitor for any injury prevention needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience with electronic health record systems, specifically Epic
  • Proficient in handling patients with amputations, CVA rehabilitation, and orthopedic conditions
  • Preferred certifications: BLST
