Job description

We're building a native Android SDK to bring Xident's privacy-first verification to the Android ecosystem. You'll create a Kotlin SDK with CameraX-based liveness detection, on-device age classification, and document capture — keeping all biometric processing on the user's device.

Xident is building the future of digital identity verification. Our platform enables businesses to verify users' ages and identities in seconds, while respecting privacy through our unique "Verify Once, Access Everywhere" model.

Founded in 2023, we've already processed over 10M+ verifications processed and serve 500+ businesses. We're a remote-first company with team members across 12 countries.

Our mission is simple: To make identity verification seamless, private, and accessible for everyone. We believe privacy and convenience shouldn't be mutually exclusive, and we're proving it every day.

  • Build document capture with real-time edge detection, auto-crop, and quality checks
  • Write comprehensive documentation, integration guides, and sample apps for developers
  • Ensure compatibility across Android 8+ (API 26+) and optimize for device fragmentation
What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of professional Android development with Kotlin

  • Production experience building SDKs or libraries consumed by third-party developers
  • Understanding of on-device ML inference (TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or ML Kit)
  • Strong knowledge of Android security — Keystore, BiometricPrompt, encrypted storage
  • Experience publishing to Maven Central and managing SDK versioning and API stability
Nice to Have
  • Experience with ML Kit or MediaPipe for face detection
