Job Title: Director of First Impressions
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Position Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Wage: $22 - $25 per hour
Job Summary:
As the Director of First Impressions, you will be part of a Team that is building the future for our industrial and commercial clients. We are looking for a dependable and motivated individual with over-the-top customer service experience and a passion for organization and time management. In this position, the Director of First Impressions is responsible for managing the front office operations, providing administrative support, coordinating communications and ensuring every interaction reflects SCI's company values. You will work within our Workforce Development Department and report to the Chief Development Officer. You will also have the opportunity to work with each department throughout SCI to accomplish daily administrative duties, tasks and event planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Front Office & Customer Experience
  • Greet all visitors, clients, subcontractors, vendors and Team members in a courteous and professional manner at our Lafayette Office location
  • Answer phone, route phone calls, take messages
  • Gather and disburse mail and packages
  • Assist departments throughout the organization with various administrative tasks and duties when required/needed. (ex. Copying, printing, laminating, etc.)
  • Manage the front desk and reception area, ensuring it is on-brand, clean and client-ready
  • Manage office, kitchen and custodial supply inventories, vendor relationships and marketing materials stock (business cards, branded swag, etc.)
  • Create and update, forms, templates and documents
  • Proofread documents for accuracy
  • Update company contact lists
  • Stock client fridge
  • Administer and manage Logansport office machines including company phone system, Supervisor / office printers
  • Oversee the assigned cleaning company maintaining communication with them when issues arise
  • Event planning and travel arrangements
  • SCI Holiday party planning and execution
  • Assist with monthly Lunch and Learns
  • Complete and submit Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) awards according to timelines
  • Complete and submit Coalition for Construction Safety (CCS) awards according to timelines

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Requires clear communication and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Punctuality
  • Organized and proactive
  • Requires strong work ethic, attention to detail and multitasking
  • Previous experience in clerical, secretarial or administrative assisting position
  • Strong knowledge of customer service
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • May deal with tight deadlines or demanding personalities in a professional manner

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and keyboarding motions
  • Ability to lift and move objects and packages up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office-based
  • Indoor, climate controlled
  • Use of computers, phones, printers, copiers, laminators and other standard office equipment
  • Potential to travel between SCI offices currently located in Logansport and Lafayette in a company-provided vehicle
  • Potential to visit construction sites / job trailers
  • SCI and client specific PPE (personal protective equipment) required
    • (hard hat, high visibility vest, safety glasses, and ear protection provided by SCI)
