Job description

Thompson First Group is seeking Fleet Mechanics for direct hire roles with a local client in Millsboro, DE.

Candidates that have experience as a Fleet or Diesel Mechanic working on tractor trailers and reefers are encouraged to apply.

Primary Purpose

Primary purpose involves not only routine maintenance and repairs but also basic diagnostics, implementing preventive measures and providing guidance and support for other mechanics. They play a key role in optimizing the overall performance and longevity of the fleet.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs basic and intermediate inspections and preventative maintenance. Moves equipment as needed.
  • Performs basic diagnostics, intermediate repairs and advanced maintenance under supervision.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to Fleet Mechanics
  • Shop clean-up and organization.
  • Utilizes Fleet Maintenance, Telematics and/or diagnostic software system program(s).

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1 - 10 years' relevant work experience.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's license.
