Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.
Position Summary
Perform process engineering assignments associated with designing process, developing equipment requirements, control schemes, and overall process project requirements. Generally referred to as a lead position; it is the first level which includes responsibility for technical direction over a group of engineers or who functions as a technical specialist, Subject Matter Expert (SME), formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts.
Responsibilities
Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions and finding answers that work
Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering and applying them to address specific problems.
Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees working with the overall project execution process.
Math skills for using the principals of advanced math topics including troubleshooting their work, calculus for analysis and design.
Lead team of Process Engineers.
TCE recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in chosen area.
Perform design and sizing calculations for equipment without supervision.
Identify process bottlenecks and devise solutions to resolve.
Work collaboratively with other disciplines to recommend changes or upgrades to improve functionality or efficiency.
Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implemented in work design.
Interface with other disciplines and clients.
Advanced experience with Industry Standard Engineering Simulation Software (Aspen, HySys, Pro II, and the like).
Responsible for tracking and reporting budget and schedule on assigned project work for all team members.
Review engineering and vendor drawings.
Mentors all Process Engineers.
Participates in Business Development.
Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to work with data to generate periodic reports as may be needed.
Independently prepare intermediate to advanced level specifications for project assignments detailing client performance. requirements, specific component needs, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing.
Prepare engineering sketches, perform engineering calculations, and develop analysis models for complex project.
Prepare, review and/or approve vendor drawings for compliance with project.
Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others.
Set realistic expectations and ensure assigned projects are completed according to schedule and within.
Adhere to TCE and client company quality standards and follow engineering checking and approval.
Comply with all company and client health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards as well as federal and local HSSE.
Actively participate in company and client hazard identification and observation programs, and immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents.
Interact with drafting/design group to develop and review engineering.
Visit jobsites to evaluate site, project requirements, and
Visit vendor facilities to inspect equipment for compliance with requirements/specifications.
Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions as well as bid tabulations associated with equipment
Perform checking of engineering drawings and mathematical.
Adhere to safe design practices, while focusing on identifying cost saving.
Since advancement is based on progressive experience and knowledge, the Process Engineer V must necessarily be able to perform all functions of a Process Engineer I
Plan and manage workload, budgets, and project resources, requesting assistance as
Develop, review and/or approve conceptual and detailed engineering design
Assist in the development of internal design guidelines, specifications, and design control.
Assess feasibility of projects by assessing materials, costs, and time requirements, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics. Utilize complex and repetitive calculations.
Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and/or construction schedules.
Analyze and examine different strategies, equations and applications to ensure appropriate procedures are applied and/or utilized. Resolve design and development.
Manage client relationships and develop repeat business.
Compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates, and Total Installed Cost estimates based on client provided project scope. Manage and forecast man-hour requirements and schedules associated with discipline-specific project.
May lead medium to large scope multi-discipline projects and manage day to day workflow within a group or project; may make assignments, distribute workload, and establish work deadlines; reports to immediate supervisor regarding completion of Responsible for providing feedback to immediate supervisor regarding co-worker's performance and any work-related issues, including those that might lead to disciplinary.
Provide advice and assistance on work techniques, best practices, and subject matter expertise to co-workers.
Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned and adhere to regulations regarding PE sealing requirements.
Qualifications
Required: 16+ years of progressive experience in the field of Chemical Engineering, in the petrochemical and or specialty chemical industry. 20+ Preferred.
Required: Professional Engineering license in resident state additional states to meet business requirements
