Code and Theory

Full-time

Job description

Code and Theory is the original digital transformation agency. For 25 years, we've treated disruption as an invitation, not a threat. While the industry debates what AI replaces, we're already building what it makes possible. We've been recognized as The One Show's 2026 AI Pioneer Pencil winner, named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, Adweek's first-ever Innovation Agency of the Year, and we've been featured on the Ad Age A-List. This is the team that makes sure the work gets seen and the story matches the ambition because we're only getting started.
In this role, you'll help shape and share that story across PR and internal communications, partnering closely with leadership and our network agencies (Instrument, Kettle, and Left Field Labs). You'll join a growing team with real access, working directly with execs to sharpen narratives, ship announcements, and build visibility through press, thought leadership, awards and events.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Partner with network agencies to draft press releases, pitch and build media lists, develop story angles and support launches (client wins, initiatives, partnerships, thought leadership)
  • Serve as a go-to communications liaison across teams and partner agencies, connecting stakeholders, aligning messaging and keeping PR/internal comms workstreams moving
  • Pitch media and support inbound opportunities; coordinate interview logistics and briefing materials
  • Track and report on press coverage, executive mentions, speaking opportunities and competitive/news moments
  • Manage awards and event submissions: calendar, requirements, writing, approvals and post-submission follow-up
  • Help prepare for key industry moments and events (conferences, speaking opportunities) by coordinating timelines, materials, briefing docs and follow-up
  • Support executive communications: talking points, Q&A, bylines
  • Support internal communications: network-wide updates, key announcements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 4+ years in communications/PR (in-house or agency)
  • Strong writing across press releases, bylines, pitches and briefing docs. You'll be reporting to a former editor so bring your writing chops (not ChatGPTs)
  • Comfort working directly with C-suite and executing quickly day-to-day
  • Strong organization and a detail-oriented mindset (deadlines, calendars, version control, approvals)
  • Experience managing external partners/agencies and keeping workstreams moving
  • Proactive ideas, strong judgment and responsive communication
  • Interest in (and understanding of) technology and the advertising/agency landscape. Excel at translating complex work into clear narratives

ABOUT US
Born in 2001, Code and Theory is a digital-first creative agency that sits at the center of creativity and technology. We pride ourselves on not only solving consumer and business problems, but also helping to establish new capabilities for our clients. With a global client roster of Fortune 100s and start-ups alike, we crave the hardest problems to solve. We have teams distributed across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. The Code and Theory global network of agencies is growing and includes Kettle, Instrument, Left Field Labs, Create Group, Current, and TrueLogic.
Striving never to be pigeonholed, we work across every major category: from tech to CPG, financial services to travel & hospitality, government and education to media and publishing. We value the collaboration with our client partners, including but not limited to Adidas, Amazon, Con Edison, Diageo, EY, J.P. Morgan Chase, Lenovo, Marriott, Mars, Microsoft, Thomson Reuters, and TikTok.
The Code and Theory network is comprised of nearly 2,000 people with 50% engineers and 50% creative talent. We're always on the lookout for smart, driven, and forward-thinking people to join our team.
The target range of compensation for this role is $80,000 - $95,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
