Job description

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Security\Telecom Technician to join our team in Beltsville, MD. In this role, your primary responsibility is to provide project leadership as well as perform maintenance and installation of Hardwired or Wireless, Intrusion Detection, Access Control, Video Surveillance Systems, Fire Dialers and Associated peripherals, such as, WAPs, Wireless Bridges, Biometric readers etc. Please note that this is not a cybersecurity position or security guard position.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead all jobs that require access, intrusion, and video and ensure the technicians are performing necessary tasks
โ€ข Liaison with the customers on security projects
โ€ข Upgrading & Installing systems
โ€ข Cabling | Toning and Testing
โ€ข Camera Installation \Programming and Alignment
โ€ข Troubleshooting connection problems
โ€ข Programming of intrusion
โ€ข Programming of Access Control
โ€ข Zone programming and testing
โ€ข Installing and configuring applications
โ€ข Modifying user accounts/email settings/profiles
โ€ข Troubleshooting; hardware and software
Required Knowledge and Experience
โ€ข Minimum of a High school degree
โ€ข Cat5, Cat6, Coax cabling installation and testing
โ€ข Brivo access control
โ€ข Hikvision, ONSSI, Pelco, AXIS camera systems
โ€ข Honeywell, GE intrusion
โ€ข Must possess basic diagnostic skills. Desired candidate should be able to troubleshoot from beginning to end and provide detailed information on resolution.
โ€ข The desired candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a team player, self-starter with excellent customer service focus.
โ€ข Knowledge of Telecommunications
โ€ข Ability to update all ticketing, dispatch and project tracking tools daily.
โ€ข Valid Driver's License
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Must be able to list 50+ lbs on a consistent basis

Additional Skills (a plus but not required)
โ€ข Layer 2 and 3 networking knowledge a plus.
โ€ข Fire and Elevator panel/requirements a plus
โ€ข Electrician licensing a plus
โ€ข DCJS Certification preferred.
โ€ข Certification of access control, intrusion, and camera systems a plus.
