Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)The City of Nashua is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Division of Public Works in the Wastewater Department as a Mechanic WWTP 1st Class. Take your career to the next level with us as opportunities for growth and development await.
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all WWTF equipment (plumbing, mechanical, process equipment, HVAC systems, structural, etc.) to assure uninterrupted operation of the treatment plant and its pumping stations; performs preventive maintenance inspections, lubrication and adjustments to equipment; installs new equipment or makes modifications to existing facilities. Performs other related duties. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 5, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $33.33.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 1 year additional schooling in machining, plumbing, electricity, hydraulics, or HVAC
  • Must possess a Grade I Wastewater Certificate (or obtain within a year)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
