The Activation & Engagement team is passionate about helping people take meaningful next steps in their relationship with Jesus and connection to the local church. From first-time guests to fully engaged Activators, our team works to create welcoming environments, meaningful experiences, and opportunities for people to engage with Christ, the community, and each other.
Where you fit in
The Reach Cafe Coordinator helps create welcoming and hospitable environments through the daily operations of Reach Cafe and related hospitality spaces across The Crossing. This role supports the overall guest and volunteer experience by coordinating cafe operations, maintaining organized and excellent environments, and leading volunteers with care, encouragement, and consistency.
This position plays a key role in helping the church accomplish its mission by fostering and engaging in Godly relationships among congregants, volunteers, staff, ministry leaders, and internal ministry teams. This role is ideal for a highly organized, relational, and dependable leader who enjoys creating excellent experiences for others through hospitality, teamwork, and operational excellence. The person in this role will bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and a servant-hearted approach to ministry and leadership. What You'll Be Doing
Reach Cafe Operations
  • Help oversee the day-to-day operations of Reach Cafe and related hospitality environments
  • Ensure cafe spaces, kitchens, storage areas, and serving environments remain clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready
  • Maintain and execute opening and closing procedures, operational checklists, and cleanliness standards
  • Own inventory management, ordering, receiving deliveries, and stocking products and supplies
  • Support the functionality, cleanliness, and readiness of coffee equipment and cafe systems

Volunteer Leadership & Hospitality
  • Recruit, onboard, schedule, train, and encourage Reach Cafe Activators
  • Help create a welcoming, encouraging, and team-oriented volunteer culture
  • Invest relationally in volunteers and support their growth and engagement at The Crossing
  • Provide clear communication, direction, and support to volunteers serving during weekend services and ministry events
  • Help create excellent guest experiences through warm hospitality and attentive service

Coffee Service & Ministry Support
  • Coordinate and support coffee service requests for ministry events, meetings, and weekend environments
  • Utilize systems such as Rock and eSPACE for scheduling, tracking, and communication
  • Coordinate setup, delivery, replenishment, and reset of coffee service environments across campus
  • Partner with ministry leaders and staff to help ensure ministry hospitality needs are supported effectively and efficiently

Systems, Organization & Stewardship
  • Help maintain operational systems, schedules, and workflows related to Reach Cafe operations
  • Support cash handling procedures, register management, and reporting processes as assigned
  • Help steward inventory, supplies, equipment, and ministry resources responsibly
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve hospitality systems, efficiency, organization, and volunteer experience

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with ministries, campuses, and Central teams to support churchwide hospitality and engagement initiatives
  • Contribute to churchwide events and ministry efforts as needed
  • Help foster a healthy, collaborative, and mission-driven staff culture
  • Provide support and problem-solving in fast-paced and evolving ministry environments
  • Perform other ministry-related responsibilities as assigned in support of the mission, vision, and values of The Crossing

What You'll Bring To The Team
  • Minimum Experience: One year of experience serving or leading in a hospitality, cafe, restaurant, church, or customer service environment
  • Preferred Education: Associate's degree or coursework in hospitality, leadership, business, ministry, or a related field
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Three years of experience leading volunteers or working in hospitality, cafe, restaurant, or ministry environments
    • Experience coordinating schedules, inventory, systems, or volunteer teams
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Strong hospitality instincts and attention to detail
    • Ability to lead and encourage volunteers in a positive and relational way
    • Strong technology experience (Google Workspace, Rock, scheduling systems, Excel, etc.)
    • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in fast-paced ministry environments
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
