SUMMARY
The primary functions of the IT Field Service and Support Technician are to install, uninstall, replace, and support cameras, music systems, network equipment, digital menu boards, televisions, POS (Point of Sale) systems, laptops, PCs, and low-voltage cabling. This role also provides operational support for IT functions and related systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of information technology equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install and test IT hardware including POS systems, desktops, laptops, tablets, network equipment, digital displays, TVs, cameras, and audio systems.
  • Deploy technology for new restaurant openings, remodels, and equipment refresh projects.
  • Install equipment in network racks including but not limited to switches, firewalls, and patch panel connections.
  • Mount devices such as TVs, tablets, time clocks, cameras, and digital displays.
  • Follow established deployment checklists and build standards to ensure consistent system installations.
  • Perform quality assurance testing on newly installed equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and basic network issues across multiple restaurants, bakery, warehouses and retail locations.
  • Support escalated technical issues involving POS systems, printers, displays, network connectivity, and other operational systems.
  • Assist with diagnosing root causes of recurring technical issues and deploying long-term solutions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment upgrades.
  • Assist with scheduled maintenance and project work that may occur overnight or after business hours.
  • Participate in technology refreshes such as replacing TVs, network hardware, or other operational equipment.
  • Stage and prepare equipment prior to deployments including configuration, labeling, and testing.
  • Work closely with the Support Team and Systems Administrator Team on infrastructure projects and system improvements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams during technology deployments.
  • Provide occasional technical assistance to restaurant management and staff when necessary.
  • Provide support desk coverage as needed, including during employee absences, emergency staffing situations, on-call support periods, and other operational needs to ensure uninterrupted IT service delivery.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Strong hands-on technical ability with tools, hardware installation, and equipment deployment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and endpoint issues.
  • Strong understanding of basic networking concepts, including switching, patching, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced operational environments, including airports and restaurants.
  • Experience staging, preparing, and deploying IT equipment for installations and rollouts.
  • Familiarity with networking equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2-5 years of experience in IT field services, technology deployments, infrastructure support, or a related field.
  • Experience installing and supporting POS systems, network equipment, digital displays, and endpoint devices.
  • Hands-on experience working with network racks, switches, patch panels, and device installations.
  • Experience supporting multi-site environments such as restaurants, retail, hospitality, or healthcare is highly preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification preferred.
  • CCNA certification preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIREMENTS
Airport: This position operates in a climate-controlled international airport environment. The temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public are outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport.
Restaurant: This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence.
Corporate: Normal office environment with standard lighting and average noise levels.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and other computer components. Lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals, up to 50 pounds.
