Job description

The Quality Engineer I supports assigned manufacturing quality activities, investigations, containment actions, audits, customer requirement implementation, documentation updates, and corrective action follow-up within a PCBA manufacturing environment. This role is a developing quality engineering position focused on execution, learning, documentation discipline, and support of established quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily production quality activities across SMT, through-hole, mechanical assembly, inspection, test, rework, and shipping processes.
  • Assist with containment, review, documentation, and follow-up of nonconforming product, defects, NCRs, and MRB items.
  • Support First Article Inspection, process verification, inspection criteria review, and production quality escalations.
  • Review existing quality data, reports, Pareto charts, and trend summaries to support assigned investigations, identify recurring defects or abnormal trends, escalate potential risks, and maintain records for assigned follow-up activities.
  • Assist with root cause investigations, corrective action follow-up, evidence collection, and action tracking.
  • Assist with audits by collecting evidence, completing assigned audit tasks, documenting observations, and supporting follow-up activities.
  • Support review, communication, and implementation of customer requirements as directed.
  • Assist with drafting and updating SOPs, work instructions, forms, visual aids, and training materials.
  • Support document control activities and help ensure current documents are available and usable at the point of use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Quality department objectives, customer requirements, production support, and QMS/EMS compliance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing, quality, production, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
