Firefighters in Alabama primarily respond to fires, rescue operations, and hazardous situations, requiring fire and EMT certifications. EMTs focus on providing pre-hospital emergency medical care, often working alongside firefighters but with a narrower scope of medical services. Both roles are vital in emergency response, but firefighters have broader responsibilities including fire suppression and rescue, while EMTs specialize in medical treatment and patient transport.
