Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD2309000 and is part of the TN 164th AW Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 115 (Pyramid on the River Chapter).

Duties
Help
As an AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER, GS-2185-08, you will accomplish all requirements involved in mission planning and coordination. Accomplish a wide variety of preflight, in flight, and post flight duties required by the nature of the aircraft assigned and the aircraft's specialized mission. Develop evacuation procedures for aircrew and passengers. Relay any hazards to pilot/flight engineer. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must attain and maintain mission-ready status at the appropriate crew qualification level in the unit's assigned aircraft. Periodically, must take and pass written and in-flight standardization evaluation exams to include random no notice exams.
  • May be exposed to physiological hazards of flight plus physical/psychological demands of lengthy missions, must work in confined, hazardous noise areas, subject to inclement weather during ground operations and dangerous conditions during flight.
  • May be required to travel in military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Required to maintain proficiency in the use of firearms. As prescribed by regulation, may be required to carry and use a concealed weapon while performing aircrew related duties.
  • Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. (FOR T32 ONLY)
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications
Military Grades: E-3 through E-9
Compatible Military Assignments: 1A132, 1A152, 1A172
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Must have experience in functions such as preparing aircraft loading plans, loading and offloading aircraft, operating loading equipment, and ensuring security of cargo in flight.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 12 months specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training performing weight and balance computations, cargo loading planning and security, directing cargo or personnel loading and off-loading operations. Knowledge of rules for hazardous cargo transport. Experience performing aircraft inspections to determine aircraft airworthiness.
