Title: Director, Product Strategy

Location: Clayton, MO

Salary: $203,00 and up depending on experience

Focus

The Director, Product Strategy is responsible for developing and maintaining division-wide product innovation and portfolio strategies that elevate Winchester's industry position and drive both top- and bottom-line growth. This role reports to the Vice President, Manufacturing Operations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new products, services, or processes that drive growth
  • Explore new ideas, technologies, and processes to enhance operational efficiency, resiliency, and product quality
  • Lead and inspire product managers to deliver industry leading product portfolios
  • Recognize industry trends and business opportunities within the market
  • Reduce time to market for new products from concept to availability to the customer
  • Analyze performance data to align manufacturing to maximize productivity and minimize cost
  • Partner with the Sales organization in serving as a face of the organization when interacting with customers regarding opportunity, quality, or delivery situations
  • Operate in environment of rapidly changing priorities with large financial consequences
  • Supervise diverse, highly specialized technical experts and communicate issues with management and customers
  • Direct product management in demandโ€‘based planning that maximizes operational capability
  • Identify emerging technologies that will move Winchester into new and stronger leadership positions
  • Advise executive leadership on yearly, shortโ€‘term, and longโ€‘term innovation goals
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masters Degree* with concentration in business, marketing, engineering, or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development, management, engineering, or operations
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility and business impact
  • Strong leadership and relationshipโ€‘building skills with the ability to navigate complex organizations, build consensus, and drive organizational change
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Power user of SAP Business Intelligence (BI) and capable of developing new analytical tools
  • Effective use capability of SAP Front End required
Locationโ€‘Specific Requirements
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driverโ€™s license
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. To meet the governmentโ€‘facility requirements, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen
