As a result of continued growth, we are looking to hire a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to support our Rochester, NY branch. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining fire detection systems, as well as monitoring these systems to ensure they're functioning properly at all times. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. The technician will work on various projects, ensuring that each system complies with fire codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests of fire alarms.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with alarm systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national fire codes and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed service reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete project requirements.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and installation techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Licenses or Certifications:
  • Low Voltage License (if applicable)
  • Valid Driver's License as there is daily travel between customer job sites

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Depending on the customer site, noise level could be quiet (as in a library or public office) or moderate (as in a business office with computers and light traffic)
  • Ability to withstand heights and climb ladders comfortably.

Starting Pay Rate: $28-$38 per hour, depending on experience
