Are you a Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer looking to make an impact on a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects? We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our team. We are hiring for our Taylor/Whitehall location in Wisconsin, but this position could offer flexibility for candidates located near Eau Claire and La Crosse, Wisconsin as well as Rochester, MN.

In this role you will be responsible for the design and coordination of fire sprinkler systems from concept through project completion, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and customer requirements.

What You'll Do:
  • Design fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects in accordance with NFPA standards, applicable codes, customer specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, material lists, and fabrication details to support project execution and installation.
  • Conduct site surveys, construction site reviews, and plan reviews to evaluate project requirements and develop effective design solutions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, owners, field personnel, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and other trades to ensure code compliance and successful project delivery.
  • Participate in project meetings, submit plans for approval, and provide technical support throughout the design and construction process.
  • Prepare and submit drawings, calculations, permits, and related documentation while maintaining accurate project records.
  • Compile foreman packages, complete as-built drawings, process closeout documentation, and assemble project turnover packages.
  • Assist with fabrication planning and help resolve design and installation challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
  • Associate degree in Fire Protection Design, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • NICET certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system design.
  • Understanding of code compliance and local AHJ requirements.
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following:
    • AutoCAD
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk BIM 360
    • HydraCAD
    • AutoSPRINK
    • SprinkCAD
    • SprinkFIT
    • Autodesk Inventor
    • SolidWorks
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
