Job description

What to Expect Tesla has an outstanding opportunity available for a Fire and Emergency Services Technician. During the assigned shift, the Fire & Emergency Services Technician is responsible for responding to fire, medical, technical rescue, and hazardous material related emergencies. The Fire & Emergency Services Technician will support assigned site daily operations, public education and safety training and support cross functional teams as required.
What You'll Do
  • Respond to emergencies at Tesla properties and effectively minimize losses through fire prevention, fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials mitigation, technical rescue standby's/responses and any other emergency situations that occur
  • Provide basic/advanced life support during medical emergencies associated with trauma, chemical exposure, or medical emergencies
  • Collaborate with On Site Medical (OSM) team to ensure the best possible patient care and outcome, support On Site Medical staff augmentation as required
  • Support stakeholders with emergency action plans, emergency drills, and emergency communication
  • Provide detailed verbal, written, and computer reports pertaining to condition and care of patients and incident reports as required
  • Support fire and life safety inspections. Support EHS Specialists with safety concerns and assist with coordination of safety supplies (first aid kits, eyewash stations, etc.)
  • Safely and efficiently operates emergency response and powered industrial vehicles
What You'll Bring
  • Required - Firefighter 1( IFSAC/ProBoard or CSFM), Hazardous Materials Operations and California EMT-B. Preferred-Firefighter 2, Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Technician
  • FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
  • Valid driver's license required to be able to operate assigned fleet
  • Rope Rescue/Confined Space Rescue Certifications Preferred
  • Previous experience as an industrial, military, or municipal firefighter
  • Ability to communicate concisely, clearly, and effectively in both written and verbal forms
Essential Physical Demands:
  • Must be comfortable in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift over 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 10+ hrs. daily
  • Must be comfortable working with hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to pass respiratory requirements and operate in a SCBA mask for extended periods of time
  • Must complete medical baseline assessment and have the ability to complete physically strenuous tasks associated with fire suppression, for extended periods of time

Expected Compensation $29.60 - $58.80/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
