CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Small Contracts Team Leader to join our Fire Protection Services Team in Birmingham, AL. In this role, you will lead the delivery of fire protection projects across industrial, commercial, and mission-critical environmentsโ€”directing project teams, developing talent, and ensuring exceptional client service. This is an opportunity to balance technical execution with people leadership, fostering collaboration while delivering high-quality, compliant solutions that protect lives, assets, and operations.


  • Organize, direct, and coordinate activities related to fire protection projectsโ€”from initial assessment through planning and design
  • Collaborate with Fire Protection team leadership to manage and motivate a high-performing group of technical professionals, ensuring excellence in project delivery and achieving team utilization goals
  • Effectively manage project budgets, scope, and schedules to deliver successful outcomes for critical fire protection initiatives
  • Engage with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded throughout each phase

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associateโ€™s degree or Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 11 years of fire sprinkler experience required; fire alarm experience is a plus
  • A minimum of 8 years of project management experience
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations, and project closeout documents for projects
  • Experience managing project accounting processes to include project budgeting, forecasts, and cash management
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships
  • Experience understanding and interpreting client contract requirements
  • Ability to resolve matters timely and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency
  • The ability to track and oversee multiple projects
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision is preferred
  • Valid driver's license required with the ability to travel as needed
  • NICET certification is preferred

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
