Position Summary

The Outside Sales Representative - Fire & Life Safety (FLS) is responsible for driving revenue growth across the company's fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm service and installation offerings throughout Florida. This role focuses on developing new customer relationships, expanding existing accounts, and identifying opportunities for inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, monitoring, retrofit, and installation services.
The successful candidate will be a proactive sales professional with experience in fire protection, life safety systems, building services, or related industries. This individual will serve as a market-facing representative responsible for generating new business, increasing recurring service revenue, and supporting strategic growth initiatives within the Fire & Life Safety division across the State of Florida.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development
Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow revenue within the fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm markets throughout Florida.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, hospitality, government, and multi-site customers.
Generate new recurring revenue through inspection, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and service agreements.
Prospect and develop relationships with facility managers, property managers, building owners, contractors, engineers, and other key decision-makers.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
Identify opportunities for system upgrades, retrofits, code compliance improvements, and replacement projects.
Customer Relationship Management
Conduct customer visits, site assessments, and solution presentations to identify Fire & Life Safety needs.
Develop tailored solutions for fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, suppression systems, and related life safety services.
Expand existing customer relationships through cross-selling and upselling of service offerings.
Serve as a trusted advisor on fire protection compliance, NFPA requirements, system reliability, and risk mitigation.
Establish long-term relationships that position the company as the preferred Fire & Life Safety service provider.
Sales Execution & Collaboration
Prepare proposals, pricing, and sales presentations for service and project opportunities.
Collaborate with operations leaders, service managers, and technical teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Support strategic account planning and major customer pursuits throughout Florida.
Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and reporting within CRM systems.
Coordinate with marketing and business leaders to support lead generation and market development initiatives.
Market Development
Monitor industry trends, code requirements, and competitive activity within the fire protection industry.
Identify market opportunities that support growth within the fire suppression, sprinkler, and alarm service sectors.
Represent the company at industry associations, trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities.
Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support business planning and service development.
 

Requirements


Qualifications and Experience


Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry and sales experience will be considered.
Minimum of five (5) years of outside sales experience in fire protection, fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression systems, security systems, or related technical services.
Demonstrated success selling inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, retrofit, or installation services.
Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, suppression systems, and applicable NFPA standards preferred.
Proven ability to develop new business and grow customer relationships.
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience utilizing CRM systems and pipeline management tools.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Florida.
