Job description

Overview

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Norman, OK, for a Fire Protection Engineer. The Fire Protection Engineer will be responsible for designing and evaluating fire protection systems, assessing existing systems, providing code compliance reviews, ensuring compliance with life safety codes, and conducting fire and safety risk assessments.

Quest is an international consulting firm in the Oklahoma City area that offers a wide range of services for addressing process safety, risk associated with hazardous materials, and related fire protection services. Our work includes risk analysis, consequence analysis, and other process hazards analysis studies for projects and facilities worldwide, often using our specialized software packages.

Training in the areas of consequence analysis, process hazards analysis, and process safety will be provided. Job duties will include the use of Quest's consequence analysis software and other engineering tools. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Design and evaluate fire protection systems as part of ongoing projects
  • Assess existing fire protection systems and perform code compliance reviews
  • Ensure compliance with life safety codes and conduct fire and safety risk assessments
  • Contribute to building and managing the fire protection segment of the business, with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Marketing, generating leads, presenting at conferences, and generating proposals
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Suppression Systems, and Fire Safety
  • Strong foundation in engineering principles
  • Ability to interface with clients and communicate technical information both in writing and orally
  • Registered P.E. preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
