Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Structural Engineer in West Mifflin, PA. An active DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent is required to be considered for this position.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy's submarine and aircraft fleet. Our company is looking for an experienced Engineer to join our team as part of the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project, which is a multi-site organization engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of advanced training simulators. The successful candidate will: - Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations - Review and disposition Supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements - Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Prior experience with fire suppression design - Prior experience with structural stress analysis - Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. UFC, IBC, ASME) - Strong knowledge of special inspection and/or lifting and handling requirements - Prior experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field -
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
