Fire Sprinkler Inspection & Repair Technician

Avalon Fire Protection, a leader in the life safety industry, is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Sprinkler Inspection & Repair Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an experienced technician with a strong background in fire sprinkler systems and working knowledge of fire alarm systems. The successful candidate will perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and small tenant improvement (TI) projects while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 25, NFPA 13, local codes, and company standards.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot wet, dry, pre-action, and associated fire suppression systems.
- Perform service and repair work on fire sprinkler systems and related equipment.
- Conduct fire pump inspections and operational testing.
- Conduct fire hydrant flow testing and document results.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot system issues and perform repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Complete all required inspection reports, service documentation, and deficiency reports.
- Maintain positive customer relationships through professional communication and service.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship.
- Perform physical work including lifting, climbing ladders, using hand tools, and job site cleanup.
- Represent Avalon Fire Protection professionally with customers, contractors, and the public.
- Support additional service and installation activities as required by business needs.
Qualifications Required Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience performing fire sprinkler inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 25 and NFPA 13 requirements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing as a team member.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing fire alarm inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and service in accordance with NFPA 72.
- NICET Certification (any level).
- California Fire/Life Safety Certification (Blue Card) and/or California Sprinkler Fitter Certification.
- Experience installing and programming fire alarm systems.
- Experience with fire sprinkler installation projects.

Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday.
- Typical start times as early as 6:00 AM and end times as late as 5:00 PM.
- Occasional overtime, after-hours service, or weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
Travel Requirements
- Daily travel to customer sites throughout the service area.
- Occasional travel between the primary office, branch offices, and project locations as required.
