Commissioning Engineer I - OFCI
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer I - OFCI to perform routine commissioning assignments, applying basic engineering principles in a construction environment, with a focus on successful commissioning using prescribed methods for specific and limited tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review owner project requirements
  • Assist in performing scope reviews
  • Create commissioning plans, checklists, and tests
  • Perform field visits and observe commissioning inspections and tests
  • Write issue descriptions and field reports
  • Create Systems Manuals
  • Build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Support planning and execution of system tests, including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum one year of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firm
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Project Management and Field Executions
  • Basic understanding of how design, construction, start-up, and turnover align within the project delivery process
  • Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)
  • Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery
  • Ability to conceptually relate the construction deliverable to the commissioning deliverable
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project management, and pertinent web applications; familiarity with database commissioning tools like BIM360 or Cx Alloy
  • Ability to interpret and communicate company policies
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

The base pay range for this role is $80,900 - $109,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
