Primary Duties

- Enforce local and national fire safety codes like the National Fire Protection Association standards.
- Issue violation notices or citations and require corrective actions.
- Test and inspect fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers).
- Review building plans and permits to ensure fire safety compliance before construction or renovation.
- Conduct fire investigations to determine causes and possible code violations.
- Maintain detailed inspection reports and documentation.
